Ukraine banned the entry of 83 Russian journalists

The Security Service of Ukraine banned the entry into the country of 83 to journalists from Russia, said the adviser to the head of the SBU Markiyan Lubkivsky on his Facebook page. The SBU proposes to introduce a procedure for accreditation of foreign journalists under the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine. Otherwise, explains Lubkivsky, those who are expelled from the country are returned through the territories controlled by the separatists.

“During the aggression of Russia against Ukraine, the SBU banned the entry into Ukraine 83 (!) Russian journalists who represent, in particular, Russian media as:“ Star ”, VGTRK, Lifenews and many others (10 - forcedly returned, 73 - were not allowed to our territory),” the newsru.ua adviser quotes.

At the same time, Lubkivsky emphasized that all decisions on the ban on entry were made on the basis of sufficient information on the commission of relevant acts that contradict the interests of ensuring the national security of Ukraine.

The SBU chairman also stated that the practice is widespread when Russian journalists or journalists of other countries who work for Russian propaganda and in respect of which decisions were made to ban entry, return to Ukraine through the territory controlled by the militants.

In this regard, the Security Service of Ukraine considers it necessary to return to the procedure for accreditation of foreign journalists in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the SBU for the period of the ATO. “This will allow both foreigners to record activities in Ukraine and cancel accreditation in the case of unlawful and anti -constitutional actions by them,” Lubkivsky emphasized.

In early September, the SBU banned the entrance to the country 35 to Russian media workers for a period of three to five years.
