In Hong Kong, late on Sunday evening, fierce clashes were again held between activists opposing the order of the election of the heads of administration and the police introduced by Beijing. It is reported by the BBC. According to the radio station, in a sense, it turned out to be the most stringent clashes in two months of protests.
Against the demonstrators who set up a camp in the area of the Admiralty, the police used clubs, pepper gas and waterlets. 40 protesters are detained, among the police there are wounded.
The clashes began after the leaders of protesting students called to gather at the office of the head of the administration Liang Zhenin on Lunvo Street. Demonstrators, many of whom were in helmets and had umbrellas - a symbol of Hong Kong protests - advanced to the building. At the same time, they threw bottles, helmets and umbrellas at the police. Many chanted: "I want real democracy!" The police demanded that the demonstrators retreat, but they did not obey. After that, power methods were used against them.
On Monday, in the morning, the authorities of the authorities were closed, and the officials were given an order not to go to work. Nevertheless, there were no more protesters on the streets. By noon, officials were able to go to the service.
The unrest in Hong Kong has been continuing since the end of September. The reason for them was the refusal of the Chinese authorities to hold free democratic elections of the head of the regional administration in 2017. The Beijing authorities want to weed out candidates for the post of head of the Hong Kong administration.
