“Nothing helped - they received a letter from the property of the property - to free the premises,” Elena Gremina, director of theater.doc, said on Facebook.
In mid-October, it became known that the Moscow City Property Department unilaterally terminated the lease agreement with the theater due to the illegal redevelopment of part of the premises in the basement of a residential building in a three-breed lane, which the theater.doc has been renting 12 years.
Culture figures from different countries, including the British playwright Tom Stoppard and Russian director Ivan Zarypaev , American theater critic John Friedman and Russian actress Oksana Mysina, the artist of academic theaters, 200 Rosia Drama, including Alexander Gelman, Nikolai Kolyada and Evgeny, were in defense of the theater.doc. Grishkovets, an appeal to the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin with a request to support the theater was signed on the Internet of more than 6,600 people.
The Director of Theater.doc wrote a letter to Sobyanin, in which she asked him to extend the lease and give time to eliminate the redevelopment violations. In response, another order came to release the premises signed by the deputy head of the Department of Property.
