Dozhd was asked to finally move out of Red October
The Dozhd TV channel will leave the temporary studio in the editorial office of the Snob project. According to Forbes, Dozhd was “politely asked” to leave the premises. It is not specified who the request came from. The channel’s website states that the agreement with “Snob” provided for the opportunity to broadcast from the project’s editorial office until February 2015.
Snob General Director Marina Gevorkyan told Meduza that “nothing new has happened,” since the owners of Red October long ago asked Dozhd to leave their premises. “We didn’t kick anyone out,” Gevorkyan said, emphasizing that this was a “planned move.”
As Gevorkyan said, “Snob,” as a tenant, must coordinate his decisions about subletting with the landlord. When asked if there were any requests from the landlord regarding Dozhd, she refused to answer, saying that she could not say more.
“We planned to provide the premises to the TV channel for some time until they found another studio, but plans changed,” Nikolai Uskov, editor-in-chief of Snob, told RBC.
Dozhd general director Natalya Sindeeva told Forbes that starting December 8, Dozhd will broadcast from new temporary studios, which may have to be set up in employees’ apartments.
