According to the Sinhua agency, the prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into the corpus delicti, which is suspected of a former senior statesman. The decision on the exclusion of Zhou Yuncan was made at a special meeting of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPC at the outcome of Friday by Beijing.
At the meeting of the Politburo, it was also decided to transfer the case of the crimes of Zhou Yuncan to the legal authorities for the production in the manner prescribed by law. " This decision was made, notes Sinhua, after the members of the party leadership heard and approved the report of the Central Commission for checking the discipline of the CCP on "serious violations of Zhou Yuncan Party Discipline."
Already in the first hours of the Saturday of the Beijing time, the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office of the PRC reported the adoption of the investigation in the case of Zhou Yuncan.
As noted in the message about the meeting of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CCP, he was preceded by a meeting of members of the Politburo standing committee, which took place on December 1. On it it was decided to give this cause a move. Even earlier, on July 29, the report of the Central Commission for checking the discipline was heard at a meeting of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPC.
The investigation of the Central Commission for checking the discipline of the CCP established, reports Sinhua that Zhou Yuncan "seriously violated the political, organizational and confidential discipline", he is also charged with the disclosure of state secrets. As stated in the document, "he used his post in the interests of other persons, received large bribes personally and through his family members." According to the commission’s conclusion, Zhou Yuncan "used his position to help relatives, lovers and friends in business, as a result of which serious damage was caused to state revenues." In addition, during the party investigation "other crimes were identified."
“His behavior seriously undermined the reputation of the party, brought noticeable harm to the party and people and was accompanied by serious consequences,” the message says.
Earlier, several informed sources in Beijing reported TASS that the case of Zhou Yunkan, who was actually deprived of the freedom of movement, "will certainly be brought to the end." According to observers, it is he who is in the center of the current campaign to combat corruption, accompanied by arrests and displacements from the posts of a number of high -ranking persons in the party and large companies, in particular, related to the oil sector. Zhou Yuncan in the 1990s headed the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation (KNK). Then he headed the Ministry of Public Security, was the secretary of the political and legal commission of the CPC Central Committee, who oversaw the security authorities, courts and the prosecutor's office.
Zhou Junkan is suspected of patronizing the former member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPC Bo Silaya in 2013, who led the party committee of one of the largest Chinese cities - Chunchitsin. Bo Silai was sentenced to life imprisonment.
