The British Embassy in Cairo temporarily stopped the provision of public services for security reasons, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The British embassy interrupts the work on December 7. The office of the Consulate of Great Britain in Alexandria works as usual," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
On Friday, the Egyptian security forces blocked the center of Cairo on the eve of the protest against the acquittal to ex-president of the country Hosni Mubaraku.
The Foreign Ministry does not explain what danger threatens employees or the embassy building. The department’s website, however, warns those who want to go to Egypt about the threat of terrorism in the whole country and increase criminal activity in North Sinai.
