Andrey Makarevich became a laureate

The laureate of the Prize of the Moscow Helsinsky Group in the nomination “For Protection of Human Rights by Culture and Art” was the leader of the Time Machine Group Andrei Makarevich. Presentation of the prize will take place today, December 9, in the Sakharov Center in Moscow.

Among other laureates of this year, the deputy of the Pskov city Legislative Assembly Lev Shlosberg, Deputy Chief Editor of the Moscow Komsomolets Auder Mudsabaev, chairman of the Civil Promotion Committee Svetlana Gannushkina, the leading of the Echo of Moskvy radio stations Natella Boltyanskaya, lawyer Ramil Akhmetgaliev.

The annual MHG awards are established to encourage citizens' initiative in the field of human rights and the development of human rights movement in Russia. The prize is personal in nature and is awarded to one award applicant no more than once.

The choice of laureates and award diploma is not a professional competition and does not aim to identify the best in a particular nomination. The definition of a laureate in each nomination reflects the recognition of the merits and authority of the candidate by members of the ICG.

In the nomination “For the Protection of Human Rights by Culture and Art”, the laureates of the MHG prize were Yuri Shevchuk, Viktor Shenderovich, Mikhail Ugarov, Vladimir Sinelnikov and Liya Akhedzhakova.
