Prices for imported alcohol in retail sales in early 2015 will increase by at least 20%. Market experts came to this conclusion.
Some wine trading companies have already raised prices and plan to further increase the price of their range after the New Year holidays.
“Those who raised prices by 10-15% are now raising prices again. The total increase, I think, by the end of the year will be somewhere between 25-30%,” said Maxim Kashirin, CEO of the large wine trading company Simple. On December 1, Simple itself raised prices for some of its products by 15%, the remaining products will rise in price on December 15.
“Of course, we are thinking about the consumer, who is already in shock, but we need to pay off suppliers,” Kashirin said.
In the fourth quarter, suppliers raised prices for weak imported alcohol (beer, beer drinks) by an average of 15%, Vladimir Rusanov, a representative of X5 Retail Group, told RBC.
Large retail chains Metro, Azbuka Vkusa and Auchan reported that the price of alcoholic beverages in stores has not yet risen. At the same time, after the New Year holidays, representatives of the chains reported that prices may be revised upwards.
The price of Russian-made alcoholic products will also rise. According to the forecast of Vadim Drobiz, director of the industry agency TSIFRRA, alcohol from Russian raw materials will rise in price by an average of 10%, and from imported alcohol by 15%.
For imported alcohol, prices will rise by 10% before the New Year, and by another 10% after the holidays, Vadim Drobiz, director of the industry agency TSIFRRA, predicts.
