
Bloomberg editor-in-chief Matthew Winkler will leave his post in early 2015 after 24 years of work in this capacity, the press release said.
The position of editor -in -chief will be transferred to John Micklethwait, who has been the post of editor -in -chief of the British magazine The Economist since 2006.
The 59-year-old Winkler will continue to work for the agency as an honored editor-in-chief. In this role, he will interact directly with the owner of Bloomberg Michael Bloomberg on strategic issues, interviews with high -ranking global Newsmakers and shares his expert opinion on key plots.
“Hiring Matt Winkler 25 years ago became one of the best decisions that I have ever made,” said Michael Bloomberg, quoted by the authors of the press release.
Matthew Winkler founded Bloomberg news agency with Michael Bloomberg in 1990 and has been heading his editor since then. The agency is a division of Bloomberg Bloomberg LP, which is one of the world's largest financial information suppliers. Winkler is known as the author of the leadership for business journalists Bloomberg Way.
