Coordinators of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Crimean Tatar People were doused with brilliant green

During a press conference of the Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Crimean Tatar People in Simferopol, several people threw green paint at the coordinators who were holding the press conference. This was reported on the Facebook page of the Crimean Field Mission for Human Rights. The group was headed by Eyvaz Enanov, who claims to be the head of the administration of the city of Sudak. Human rights activists from the field mission convey the words of the coordinator of the committee, Eskender Bariev, who believes that these provocateurs are people close to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean government, Ruslan Balbek.

Earlier it became known that the local authorities finally refused to agree on holding an event in Simferopol on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. In past years, events have always been held here on December 10th. The Committee intends to appeal against the actions of local authorities and seek the possibility of holding events legally at other times. The central square of Simferopol, where events were previously held on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, is cordoned off along the perimeter by police officers, riot police and soldiers of internal troops.

In addition, as reported on the website of the Crimean Field Mission, one of the activists of the Committee said that unknown representatives of the paramilitary group took away posters prepared for the event from her.

On December 9, it became known that the Committee received a warning from the prosecutor's office about the inadmissibility of holding a picket protest in connection with the ban on holding a rally in defense of human rights. The document warns of criminal liability for mass riots and extremism, mentions that “it is planned to use anti-Russian rhetoric (calls for illegal actions by people present to violate public order, provocations for actions of an extremist nature).”
