Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics - on the threshold of a humanitarian catastrophe: Reporting "Kolts"

Humanitarian assistance is constantly entering the southeast of Ukraine, but the region was on the verge of mass hunger-it simply does not reach the needy food. In large cities with food, the situation is stable, and from small settlements, reports about the residents who died from hunger began to come. Journalist Ekaterina Sergaskova in the Material for Kolta tells why humanitarian aid does not get to those who really need it, and how people live in the conflict zone in the southeast of Ukraine.

According to the sources of the journalist, seven people were killed in the city of Kirovsky, Donetsk region, five in snow. From Krasnopartizansk (Lugansk region), reports were received about 68 dead from hunger. In the medical documents of the deaths from dystrophy, heart disease is recorded in the causes of death. There are no interruptions in Donetsk and the surroundings with food, but humanitarian aid simply does not reach the remote areas.

In cities and villages in the self -proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, they did not see Russian assistance at all, writes Sergaskov. According to local residents, humanitarian aid enters markets and stores, and not in need.

Employees of the DPR/LPR and militants receive a salary from Russia and have lunch in the most expensive restaurants, ordering oysters of six dollars apiece. Meanwhile, starving people pass by, for the sake of which these "republics" were allegedly born. And somewhere someone is already dragged on a sleigh to eternity.
