FSB declassified an agent who had taken European secrets in Estonia for 20 years

The FSB of Russia for the first time reported its agent, who has been working in the Estonian security police of Kapo for about 20 years and transferred the secrets of Estonia, NATO and the USA to Russia. Uno Puusepp quit from organs three years ago and arrived in Moscow. Last year, a colleague, Vladimir Weitman, was convicted of “many years of work on Russia” instead, says NTV .

Puusepp, who served in the KGB, after the collapse of the USSR turned out to be one of the few former Chekists who was hired in the Kapo - Estonian analogue of the Russian FSB. There he dealt with technical issues, including wiretap.

In 1996, Puusepp decided to cooperate with the Russian special services. His lord was the former KGB colleague Nikolai Ermakov, who lived in Estonia, was engaged in business and regularly visited Russia. Communication was mainly carried out through caches, reports Interfax .

The program of the NTV television channel “Involuntaries” reports that Puusepp’s information was helped by “several large -scale anti -Russian agency and technical shares of the US special services, Sweden, the UK, and other countries”, to condemn several agents of foreign special services.

Information received from Puusepp, in particular, made it possible to disrupt the large -scale special operation of the CIA and the NSA to connect to the fiber -optic cable, through which encrypted diplomatic information from the Russian embassy was transmitted.

The FSB agent in Estonia transmitted secret reports to the director of the CAPO, Prime Minister, meetings on meetings with representatives of the Baltic, Finnish and British intelligence, information from the CIA, the British Mi-5, the German BND. The FSB claims that thanks to Puuseppu, even before the exposure of Edward Snowden, the scale of the intelligence work in Europe of the USA USA became known.

I almost got caught

Information from Puusepp allowed the Russian special services to identify a traitor - a former SVR employee Valery Oyamae, who in 1999 himself offered his services of Kapo. He worked for foreign intelligence for about a year, then he was arrested and sentenced to 7 years for espionage. With his help, the former colonel of Russia Igor Vyalkov was exposed and condemned for espionage.

The leakage of secret information and the failure of the operations of Estonian special services caused concern among the Americans. The agent was searched for several years. But the suspicions did not fall on Puusepp, but on the former KGB officer Vladimir Weitman , who, according to NTV, was also confessed to the Russian intelligence agencies, and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

"Of course, I was very surprising when my colleague Weitman was taken away and arrested instead of me, who, as far as I knew, did not give absolutely anything," said Puusepp.
