The program of the Festival "Return" was announced

The XVIII Festival of Chamber Music "Return" will be held in the Rachmaninsky hall of the Moscow Conservatory from January 6 to 12, 2015. His program has three thematic concerts - “Shostakovich”, “Toteceites”, “Werther effect” - and a concert at the request.

The Return festival since 1998 has been held at the initiative of the violinist of Roman Mints and Goboist Dmitry Bulgakov. Graduates of special music schools in Russia and the CIS countries, who continue their careers abroad, participate in it.

The program of concerts of the festival includes rarely performed masterpieces of chamber music, Russian and world premieres of Russian and foreign composers. One of the evenings of the festival is assigned for a concert at the request, the program of which is compiled taking into account the wishes of the performers themselves. The other three concerts are thematic. The compositions collected in each of them form a single cycle with their own internal dramaturgy on the principle of collage.

The XVIII festival “Return” will open with a concert “Shostakovich” (January 6) . In his program there is no music by Shostakovich himself, but at the same time, it is his figure that one way or another unites all the compositions of Bach, Malera, Weinberg, Denisov, Schnita, Utoslitskaya and Sviridov for the concert.

The concert "Cotings" (January 8) will unite the works of authors who turned to their own earlier finds, placing them in a different content context. This evening the music of Beethoven, Metner, Aves, Pulenka, Tavern, Elena Langer will sound.

The program of the third concert of the festival, the “Werther effect” (January 10) , is compiled from works related to suicidal themes and events that provoked or led to suicide (music by Dowland, Schubert, Brams, Tomazi, Ornstein, Russian folk songs and city romances).

The festival will end with a concert at the request (January 12) .

On the stage of the Rachmaninovsky hall will be performed by both regular participants in the festival and new guests. Among the debutants of the violinist Alisa Margulis, the Counterpoint William Tauers (Great Britain), the pianist Ingrid Fliter (Argentina), the cellists Anastasia Kobekina and Peter Kondrashin, the ensemble Dmitry Pokrovsky, the chamber choir of the Gnesin college.

The permanent participants of the festival will perform on the “Return”: his artistic leaders Roman Mintz and Dmitry Bulgakov, as well as pianists Yakov Katsnelson, Ksenia Bashmet, Ekaterina Apekysheva, Alexander Kobrin, Mikhail Mordvinov, cellist Boris Andrianov, Clarinetist Igor Fedorov and Anton Dressler, violinist Alena Baeva Baeva and Asya and Asya Sorshneva, altists Sergey Poltavsky and Timur Yakubov, guitarist Dmitry Illarionov, vocal ensemble Intrada and others.
