Elections to the State Duma of the VII convocation will be held on December 4, 2016, Slon reports with reference to Interfax. This date was named by the Deputy Chairman of the CEC Leonid Ivlev.
The official also said that 14 parties would not have to collect signatures. In addition to parliamentary parties, Yabloko, Civic Platform, Right Cause, Patriots of Russia, Communists of Russia, the Russian Party of Pensioners For Justice, Motherland, RPR-PARNAS, Greens will participate in the elections and Civil Force.
In a comment to Slon.Ru, the head of the Interregional Association of Voters, Andrey Buzin, explained that the date of the elections to the State Duma is not set on a single voting day.
“The CEC can only announce in advance that, in accordance with the law, elections are scheduled for the day when the powers of the previous State Duma expire. And the president will set the voting date 110 days before the election, ”the source of the online publication specified.
