The CEC called the date of the following elections to the State Duma

Elections to the State Duma of the VII convocation will be held on December 4, 2016. This date was called the deputy chairman of the CEC Leonid Ivlev at a meeting with representatives of the parties, writes TASS.

“As of today, 14 parties will not collect signatures. Last year, there were 12. Four parties of them - parliamentary, the fifth party - Yabloko, like a party that scored more than 3% of the votes in previous elections, ”he explained.

Among the parties that should also not collect signatures are “right-handed”, “patriots of Russia”, “civilian platform”, “communists of Russia”, the Russian Party of pensioners “For Justice”, “Homeland”, RPR-Parnas, “Green” and “Civil Power”.

“The elections to the State Duma do not necessarily take place on a single voting day, their date is set separately. The CEC can only first announce that, in accordance with the law, the elections are assigned on the day when the powers of the previous State Duma expire. And the president will set the date of voting 110 days before the election, ”explained Slon the head of the interregional association of voters Andrei Buzin.

The previous parliamentary elections on December 4, 2011 led to mass protests in Moscow and other cities of Russia. Participants in many thousands of rallies “For honest elections” demanded the resignation of the head of the CEC Vladimir Churov, who still holds this post, registration of opposition parties and re-election of the State Duma.
