"We assure that there are no circumstances that negatively impact the operation of the MasterCard network in Russia, we continue to operate as a significant payment system operator in the Russian market. We are committed to continuing to work with our customers and partners so that Russians can enjoy the benefits of the most modern payment technologies - at any time, wherever they are,” the agency quotes the words of the head of the Russian branch of MasterCard.

The company also emphasized that its network is fully operational. In addition, it allows cardholders to make payments and withdraw cash from ATMs.

Earlier on Thursday, such rumors were already denied by Sberbank. The credit institution reported that, contrary to the information disseminated, it is not going to introduce restrictions on cash withdrawals and blocking cards of the international payment systems Visa and MasterCard.

Visa also denied information about its refusal to provide its services in Russia . The company's press service assured that MPS continues to provide services for processing payments on its cards in Russia as usual.
