
The Basmanny District Court of Moscow on Wednesday arrested the former head of the Bashneft company Urals Rakhimov, on the international wanted list, the Kommersant newspaper reports.
As reported, earlier an entrepreneur living in Austria sent answers to the investigator Alexei Veseliev to the questions posed by him. Rakhimov’s lawyer Ilnur Salimyanov told Kommersant that the defense would appeal the court decision, as he considers him illegal. According to the lawyer, the actions for which Rakhimov is involved are entrepreneurial activity and cannot be the subject of criminal proceedings. The day before, it became known that the chairman of the board of directors of the AFC System Vladimir Yevtushenkov, who was also passing in the Bashneft case, was released from house arrest. This information was confirmed by his lawyer Vladimir Kozin.
On the privatization of Bashtek companies and the subsequent sale of these assets of the “system”, several criminal cases and lawsuits are investigated and investigated. In addition to Yevtushenkov and the Urals Rakhimov, entrepreneur Levon Ayrapetyan, who was also put under house arrest, was held, but now he is in a hospital with cancer. On December 10, the Basmanny Court extended the preventive measure to him until April 19, 2015.
AFK bought Bashtak assets from funds, which were believed to be close to the then head of the Republic of Murtaz Rakhimov and his son, Ural Rakhimov. On October 30, the Moscow Arbitration Court found that the privatization of Bashneft was carried out with violations, and decided to demand 81.7% of ordinary and 20.8% of the Bashneft’s privileged shares belonging to the Sistema AFS and its Daughter System-Invest in favor of the Russian Prosecutor General.
On December 9, the Bashneft shares belonging to the AFK System and CJSC System-Invest were written off from their personal accounts at the Register OJSC and credited to the personal account of the Federal Property Management Agency. The state became the owner of 71.6% of the authorized capital of OJSC ANK Bashneft.
