In South Korea, for the first time in history, a political party is prohibited

The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Korea voted on Friday for the dissolution of the Perevo -Korean Opposition Party. This was the first ban on the activities of the political party in the country's history since the adoption of the country's first constitution in 1948, Yonhap reports.

In the votes of eight judges against one, the Constitutional Court (KS) approved a petition of the country's government on the dissolution of the small united progressive party, which owns five out of 300 mandates of a one -fingered National Assembly of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The resolution of the Constitutional Court is also prohibited from creating a similar political organization.

Earlier, several activists of this party, including the deputy of the Parliament Lee Socal Gi, were accused of preparing a conspiracy to overthrow the government in case of war with North Korea. They were found guilty of cooperation with the underground group "Revolutionary Organization", which set a similar goal, reports TASS.

The government took advantage of the right to appeal to the Constitutional Court in order to consider the issue of the dissolution of the political party, whose activities violates the "main democratic order".
