Reading Sessions

From December 18 to 23, the ensemble "Studio of New Music" and the faculty of advanced training of the Moscow Conservatory declare seminars on the latest performing techniques in modern music.

Seminar participants will be able to plunge into the world of modern music, collaborating with the musicians of the leading Russian team, specializing in the performance of modern music, with professors of the conservatory, as well as work in the center of electro -acoustic music of the Moscow Conservatory.

In addition to lecture classes and a concert program, measures are provided in which the performers will perform together with the soloists of the ensemble "New Music Studio". The works of active participants in the specialty “composition” will also be performed by the musicians of the ensemble as part of the special project of Reading Sessions.

Within the framework of the six -day program, the following events are planned:

- Lectures and master classes of the musicians of the ensemble “Studio of New Music” according to the following instruments: flute, clarinet, basket, pipe, thrombone, piano, shock, vocal, violin, cello, double bass. Musicians will introduce the participants of seminars with new performing techniques, with a modern repertoire created over the past 20 years, show new methods of notation, and also conduct practical classes with young performers - participants in seminars.

- Lectures of professors of the Moscow Conservatory with a review of the work of modern composers of the last 20 years, as well as the latest trends in the field of composition and about the features of notation in modern composition.

- lectures of composers and employees of the electro-acoustic center of the Moscow Conservatory on the use of the latest technologies in composer creativity and on the role of the performer in essays for tools with Live electronics.

The musicians of the ensemble “New Music Studio” will hold a concert laboratory (Reading Session), in which in an open dialogue with composers they will work on the works of seminars. Contractors are participants in seminars, if desired, will take part in the concert with the musicians of the ensemble “Studio of New Music”.

On Saturday, December 20, a lecture will be held with the video screen “New Musical Theater on the example of operas by Beat Furrer”, lecture “Modern performing techniques: brass instruments”, practical classes and concert Pro et contra.
