- What are the main results of the year in science for you personally ?

-Apparently, the strongest impression is from the fact that it became clear that the Gaussian distribution is not the only possible distribution that exists in nature. There is a no less wide class of physical systems in which the distribution of extreme values ​​of correlated values ​​plays a fundamental role (for example, the growth of an ink front on a promotional paper lowered into a jar with ink). In general, I am fascinating when the “medal finds a fighter”, that is, when the existing mathematical (often very abstract) constructions is an adequate physical task. In Russia: Alas, I do not see symptoms of improving the scientific climate, rather the opposite. So here, in my opinion, nothing but initiatives at the local level can be done. But researchers could do significantly more in order to restrain the impending epidemic of clericalization. In my opinion, the fact that Russia is rolling in the Middle Ages is worse than Ebola.

- What are the main results of the year in science for you personally ?

- rapid rapprochement of ideas and methods used in the physics of the condensed state and physics of high energies. Complex phases, known in solid physics, suggest interesting opportunities in the quantum theory of fields. Anomalic chill effects from high -energies physics are studied in the physics of Grafen and Weilian half -metal. Holographic duality gives a new language to describe systems in strong connection. The Renaissance “Theory of Nodes,”-Lord Kelvin seemed to mean something correct. The new invariants of nodes introduced by mathematicians in the last decade are used in various tasks, and there is no doubt that so far only the peak of the iceberg has been affected.

The flow of new ideas related to the concept of entropy, which describes the "complexity of the system." The new round of discussion began with discussing the eternal problem of the entropy of black holes, but it is already clear that our understanding of entropy of confusion is far from complete and it is worth expecting rapid progress in this area. The question is fundamentally important, since it is related to the problem of maintaining information and “folding” the space-time of elementary bricks.

From the frivolous. I had recently impressed me the same, as it turned out, well -known psychological test - “rotating girl”. Allegedly by its results, one can judge which hemisphere of the brain is more active. One friend of mine offered this test to the conference participants who did not know about him. When I was tested for the first time, I just came immediately after an intensive scientific conversation, so everything fell into place. The test results are absolutely repeated, so if you want, you don’t want to believe in its effectiveness and wish everyone so that the girl or girls in the coming year do not forget to spin in different directions.

From serious. Do not forget that when this moss in Russia subsides, the role of fundamental science as an absolutely international field of activity, it will be very great to restore destroyed ties.
