- It seems to you, will the conference of the scientific diaspora in 2018 take place?

- Most likely, no, and here, as always, two options: good, but unlikely and more likely and very bad. Which of them depends on the general (political, economic, scientific) situation in Russia. If it categorically changes for the better, in particular the attitude to the West, thereby the diaspora will become normal, and not hysterical, as it is now, if scientists will have the opportunity to solve their problems with the minimum participation of the bureaucracy, then the conferences do not need, everything will go naturally.

- And if the worst?

- And this means that the discord between power and thinking people will become even more. To my remark that he was very great even now, the minister replied that he was always and there was nothing special in the current situation. And I think that there is and that the opposition to power among scientists is growing rapidly, and its causes lie on the surface; The authorities will try to suppress it. Therefore, all kinds of conferences of this kind can be forgotten. In my opinion, only professionals can present serious objections against today's trends in scientific, and in another (for example, external) authorities, and therefore the opposition should include and, perhaps, even mainly consist of scientists. But the current government is far from listening to them. By this, it exacerbates the problems of the country and increases the likelihood of disasters.

- Do you need to put forward your speakers with a positive program? Do you see such candidates?

- No, it is not necessary to put forward, they must themselves be born and take a chance to go to the public platform. It is no coincidence that it was the Academician of Sakharov, a brilliant scientist, who became an unconditional symbol of changes that occurred in the country 25 years ago. And now the power, and behind it, Okhlocracy is trying to forget about him and the benefits of those changes and return the country back.
