In this issue of Trinity Option, it is difficult to circumvent the policy of the newspaper in silence, pretending that nothing significant has happened since the time of the previous issue. During this time, reckoning for sins began - their own and strangers. I really want to blame everything on the power that we apparently honestly deserved, and most of us (referring to all Russians) supports, so there are common sins: strategic mediocrity, a primacy of consumption over creation, great -power fees and so on.
This is a common place. The topic of reckoning shows in many comments on the blogs and media of the last days. Lists of sins, for which you have to pay, echoes, forecasts and recipes too. I’ll try to state my point of view in the form of tips and calls, although this is nothing more than a literary technique.
So, the first: do not panic. It is better to pay now than later - then you will have to pay more. A sharp decrease in prosperity is a familiar business. Another thing is more important: the crisis reduces the resources of the authorities in terms of the commission of new madness, sobering and gives hope for the exit from the impasse. So let's remain calm: the faster a person will move from a state of panic to the stage of internal mobilization, the better for him and for the country.
The first intensively discussed dilemma is to leave or stay. My recipe is as follows: if you have not yet taken place, but want to grow up, earn a name, become a significant person - leave. If you do not belong to the lucky ones who have magnificent teachers here, it will be easier for you to do it there. In the form, you will be more useful for Russia than in failed form here. Especially if you come back someday.
On the contrary, any person who has already taken place is desperate here. The choice of the future of the country depends on its presence. The significance of such a person, his influence is immeasurably higher if he is fatal at his homeland in her moment. So if you feel like a rather shallow, stay! And do not forget: "Blessed is who visited this world ..."
Science, high -quality education and high culture have already been lost as a powerful continuous environment, but will undoubtedly survive in the form of separate foci. Their number and quality depend on people, to whom I seemed to turn at the end of the previous paragraph. Therefore, another call: become the guardians of fire. This role, as a rule, is more constructive and “long -term” of the fate of the fiery revolutionary. And if your hearth can heat up and grow young people, you have no price. Someday these foci will unite into a new environment, the main thing is to prevent them from turning out in the near future.
About the unification. In the last three years, people sometimes began to respond to pressure from above correctly: uniting into structures for confrontation. The next example, covered in the TRV, is the associations of scientists who arose in the past and the year before last. Now it's all oh how it will come in handy! Especially if these structures begin to interact between themselves and unite into a wide network.
And the last. The honored crisis brings not only threats, but, I repeat, hopes for changes. This is not only a banal change in power, but also a change in values and straightening of the brain. So if you are the owner of real professionalism in any area and soul of the creator, smile and pull yourself up. Your time has not come yet, but already looms on the horizon. At least as one of the possibilities.
Boris Stern
Boris Zhuikov,
doct. chem. sciences, head. Laboratory of the Radioisotope Complex of the UEF Institute of Nuclear Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences:
I would like to object to my friend Boris Stern. It seems to me that in today's situation there is no difference whether you are a young person or not. The main thing is that you must act as a professional. If you understand that as a professional should you leave, that you better engage in science abroad, then be sure to leave. If you feel that it is better for you as a professional to stay in Russia, then stay and work. In my opinion, the scientist should strive first of all to act in such a way that his professional duties can be fulfilled as best as possible. If you are going to professionally engage in politics and this is now more important for you than science, then another alignment, of course. But here you still need to see where your activity will be more effective - in Russia or abroad. In Russia, you are closer to the scene, but you can be more independent abroad. Therefore, at the moment, it should hardly be demanded that people as Khodorkovsky, Illarion, Guriev return. And Navalny, Nemtsov ... - Street leaders, and they probably are inappropriate to leave, despite a high risk.
Alexey Zakharov,
cand. physical .- Mat. Sciences, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Economics NIU- HSE:
The choice is really like that - to stay or leave (now I feel this choice). And if you stay, then exchanging salaries and, alas, working conditions for authority, a sense of duty and love for the homeland. But there are two points. Firstly, I do not agree with the denial of the revolutionary principle. The remaining will need not only professionalism and integrity, but also a bright civil position. Otherwise, you can lose everything. So, as Churchill said, "I can not offer anything but blood, hard work, tears and sweat." Secondly (which follows from the first), in addition to maintaining a scientific culture, it is necessary to form a political culture. This is a direct duty. If not we, then who? The ability to make joint decisions, responsibility, respect for opponents, opponents, and just to all fellow citizens - all this is necessary for our country to take place as a state.
