The Media Guard, the federal project “Young Guard of United Russia”, prepared an official request to Roskomnadzor due to the fact that Google and Yandex are displayed in the search results for resources included in the register of prohibited sites.
The head of the Media Guard project Ilya Odvatkin told Izvestia that in his request, Media Guard asks Roskomnadzor to consider the possibility of connecting Yandex and Google to black lists. Requests are sent to the search engines themselves - they are asked to exclude sites with prohibited information from the search results.
“Yandex” and Google are the most popular search engines. - Says Odvatkin. - Their attendance exceeds the number of spectators of leading television channels. People in one way or another begin their work on the Internet by scoring some requests in these search engines. It turns out that on a number of requests of Internet users, Yandex and Google issue resources, some of which are banned. Thus, they can essentially be incriminated that they are engaged in the spread of prohibited information. ”
“These search engines are serious players on the Internet segment. If Roskomnadzor gives them unloading from the register of prohibited sites, then I think that they must agree to exclude the forbidden content, as they position themselves as socially oriented companies, ”the head of the Media Guard believes.
According to Izvestia, his initiative received support in Roskomnadzor and the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.
