
Naftogaz Ukraine transferred to Gazprom 1.65 billion dollars in payment of the previously unpaid gas volumes, reports Lenta.ru with reference to the statement of the Ukrainian company. Gazprom has not yet confirmed the receipt of money.
“Thus, according to the agreements reached in Brussels, Naftogaz paid 3.1 billion US dollars for 11.5 billion cubic meters of gas delivered by Gazprom in November-December 2013 and April-June 2014,” the report said.
The company recalled that the first payment of 1.45 billion dollars was transferred on November 4.
On December 6, Naftogaz of Ukraine paid Gazprom $ 378 million in prepayment for the supply of a billion cubic meters of Russian gas.
Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission on October 31 adopted in Brussels the so -called "Winter Gas Plan", which provides for the resumption of the supply of Russian fuel to Kyiv. By the end of 2014, Ukraine should pay off a debt of 3.1 billion dollars and buy additional gas volumes on prepayment conditions. According to the agreements, from November 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015, Moscow will provide Kyiv with a discount of $ 100 per thousand cubic meters.
