In Indonesia, a connection with the Airbus A320 liner was lost, which performed a flight from the city of Surabay to Singapore along the Airasia Airline route. On board the aircraft were 155 passengers and seven crew members, Reuters reports with reference to the airline’s statement.

The plane flew between the islands of Belitung and Borneo at an altitude of 9.75 kilometers when contact disappeared. The liner requested a set of heights up to 11.58 kilometers to fly over dense clouds. The connection disappeared at 6:17 local time (2:17 in Moscow).

Airbus A320 was supposed to arrive in Singapore at 8:30 (3:30 in Moscow).

Earlier, the representative of the National Search and Rescue Service of Indonesia Supriangi Minggu said that the plane had fallen into the water near the island of Belitung. Subsequently, this information was refuted at the Ministry of Transport of Indonesia, RIA Novosti reports .

“According to the examination of the aircraft before the flight, it was in good condition,” said the Director General of the Air Transport Department of the Ministry of Joko Murdjatmo.

The QZ8501 flight, according to the Australian ABC, flew 138 adult passengers, 16 children and one infants. The crew included two pilots and five flight attendants. 156 people on board were Indonesians, three - citizens of South Korea, also one Singaporeus, one Frenchman and one Malaysian flew this flight.

In March 2014, another plane of the Malaysian airline disappeared-Boeing 777 Malaysia Airlines, which flew by the MH370 flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. There were 239 people on board. The plane was not found.
