
On board the Norman Atlantic ferry, which endures in the Ionian Sea, there were two citizens of Russia. These data of TASS was confirmed by the head of the consular department of the Russian embassy in Rome Sergey Patronov.
In the list of passengers of the tanned ship, two Russians are listed under the surnames of Doroshenko and Sholokh - a man and a woman. Whether they were already evacuated from the Norman Atlantic board, is not specified.
At the same time, Interfax in the diplomasses of Russia in Italy and Greece could not confirm that people with Russian -speaking surnames listed in the list of passengers are citizens of the Russian Federation.
As the representative of the Greek coastal guard Nikos Langadianos said, 111 out of 478 people on board were saved from the ferry. Italian and Greek helicopters take part in a rescue operation. Langadianos emphasized that there is no information about the dead or injured as a result of a fire on a ferry.
The Ministry of Commercial Fleet Greece, in turn, reported 140 rescued, RIA Novosti reports .
The fire on board Norman Atlantic began on the morning of December 28, when the ferry followed from the Greek Patr to the Italian Ancona. Now the ship is 33 miles northeast of the Italian city of Otranto.
