As the director of Theater.doc, Elena Gremin, said on her Facebook, soon after the start of the show, police officers broke into the hall, who said they had received information about the bomb in the building. They began to check the documents from all those present and announced the evacuation. At the same time, according to eyewitnesses, only three apartments throughout the house were warned about the danger of the explosion.
The playwright Maxim Kurochkin, director Vsevolod Lisovsky and Technical Director of Theater.doc were delivered to the Presnensky police department, Stanislav Gubin. Later, all the detainees were released.
During the search, a projector, a computer and a screen were seized, on which the film was shown “stronger than weapons”. “The inquiry officers told me that this was not a search, but“ inspection of the scene, ”Gremin said .
In addition to police officers, representatives of the Ministry of Culture came to the Theater.Doc who demanded explanations in connection with a demonstration of a foreign film without a rental certificate. The actor of the "theater.doc" Vladimir Bagramov emphasizes that in the theater it was supposed to show only fragments of the film.
The documentary project “stronger than weapons” was created by filmmakers of the creative association #Babylon'13 . This is more than 1000 hours of the confrontation chronicle on the Kiev Maidan and other events in Ukraine of 2013-2014.
Elena Gremin notes that the officer from the EC center did not find signs of extremism in the film. Nevertheless, the director of Theater.doc called to the department of control of the Ministry of Culture, where today, December 31, it should give explanations and submit the charter documents of the theater.
On December 30, the show was to be the last event in the basement of the house in Trekhprudnaya Lane, where Theater.doc has been located since 2002 - the Moscow Property Department ordered the theater to free the premises in connection with illegal redevelopment. At the show, it was planned to collect donations in favor of the family of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov , arrested by the FSB on suspicion of terrorism.
