Greece President dismissed parliament

Greece President Karolos Papulias signed a decree on the dissolution of parliament and holding early parliamentary elections on January 25, 2015, RIA Novosti reports.

The presidential decree on the morning of December 31 was posted at the entrance to the parliament. This means that he entered into force. After the publication of the dissolution, the election campaign officially begins.

The first meeting of the new composition of the parliament is scheduled for 11 a.m. on February 5. Early elections are held due to the fact that the deputies could not elect the President of Greece. Now the new parliament has to do this.

The powers of the current President of Greece 85-year-old Karolos Papulas expire on March 13, 2015. Now the second term of his stay in the post of president is ending, according to the Constitution, he cannot be re -elected for the third term.
