Intel turned off the Russian -speaking forum for developers

From January 1, the Intel Corporation disconnected the Russian -speaking forum for developers on the Intel Developer Zone resource. The corresponding message appears when trying to reach the forum. In addition, the possibility of publishing posts in Russian is now disabled and the commenting of Russian -language content placed before January 1 is not available.

At the same time, users from Russia have the opportunity to communicate at the English -language forum, as well as place articles, posts and comments in English.

The resource administration explained the measures taken by the entry into force of the Russian Law on Bloggers. In fact, however, this refers to the law obliging to store the personal data of Russian citizens only on servers located within the country.

Vladimir Putin signed this law on July 22, 2014. According to the document of the company that will not open their data centers in Russia, will be considered violators and Roskomnadzor will be able to block their resources for Russians by decision of the court. The law also creates a special "Register of violators of the rights of personal data subjects."

The date of entry into force in the document was named on September 1, 2016. However, already at the end of the summer of 2014, United Russia, Yevgeny Fedorov, Zhirinovtsy Vadim Money and Yaroslav Nilov, communist Alexander Yushchenko and reference Vladimir Parakhin proposed to accelerate the entry of the law into force . Already now, many domestic services and data centers are located in Russia, so there is no point in waiting for 2016, deputies said. In the text they proposed, the amendment by the date of entry into force was listed on January 1, 2015.

On September 24, the State Duma adopted this amendment in the second reading .

However, on December 10, the State Duma Committee on Inform Policy, Information Technologies and Communications proposed to return the amendment to the second reading in order to adopt the later date of entry into force - September 1, 2015. This date was adopted on December 17 when considering the amendment in the third reading.

On December 31, Putin approved the text of the amendment . Thus, Intel turned off the options for Russian -speaking eight months earlier than the deadline.
