Representatives of the Ukrainian security forces and separatists of the self -proclaimed "Donetsk People’s Republic" began negotiations on a new exchange of prisoners, the Commissioner for the Rights of Human Rights of the DPR Daria Morozova told the TASS agency. According to Morozova, no more than 30 security officials are held in the DPR. “Some of them themselves surrendered. Until the arrival of the cold, Ukrainian soldiers lived in temporary dwellings. With the onset of frosts, their shelters became unsuitable for housing and they surrender,” Morozova said.

Later, the representative of the self -proclaimed DPR at the negotiations of the contact group on peaceful settlement Denis Pushilin told RIA Novosti that the new exchange of prisoners between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the DPR could begin in mid -January.

Earlier on Sunday, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at a meeting with the leaders of law enforcement agencies stated that Ukraine owns information about the whereabouts and number of Ukrainian military, which are now under arrest. “We must do everything for their speedy liberation,” the president said.
