The inhabitants of Karelia and the Arctic became eyewitnesses of an unusual natural phenomenon - a polar radiance, which was so bright that it was even able to capture on the video.
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta , the radiance was “unusually beauty”: he was observed on Lake Concerar, in Kandalaxha and Alakurtti, in the Murmansk region and in the Karelian city of Segezha (photographs from Karelia can be seen in the group Asterion on the social network VKontakte).
The South Federal portal notes that the heavenly radiance was also seen in the Leningrad region.
According to the portal, to capture the polar radiance on the video, a resident of the city of Apatity of the Murmansk region, photographer Valentin Zhiganova, managed to capture the video. It was reported that he spent several hours in twenty -degree frost, but he was rewarded: in addition to the photographs, he managed to make a small video.
The site notes that "to shoot this process in the video is not easy - this natural miracle is hidden behind the clouds or falling snow."
The photographer posted a video on the YouTube video hosting, clarifying: "Unfortunately, there are not enough technical capabilities of the camera for high -quality polar radiance video, so the quality of the picture is inferior to what is obtained in the photo."
Photos can be viewed on the photographer page on the VKontakte social network. In December, it turned out that the inhabitants of the Kola Peninsula were observing the northern lights five times a week.
