The Spanish police detained a ship with 1.5 tons of cocaine

The Spanish police discovered 1.5 tons of cocaine on a ship, which was supposedly followed from Venezuela to Spain, 16 people were arrested, including a famous drug dealer, the La Voz de Galicia newspaper reports.

The ship following the Venezuelan flag was detained in the Atlantic Ocean, 80 miles west of Cabo-Verda. Nine people were on board.

The special operation was carried out by employees of the special response of Galicia, whose task is to fight the mafia, organized crime and drug trafficking. The cost of cargo can reach 150 million euros, RIA Novosti reports.

49 bales with cocaine were found on board, they have already been delivered to Galicia (north of Spain), and the ship itself is still in the Atlantic Ocean and follows in the direction of the Spanish shores.

Among the arrested are several famous drug dealers, including Rafael Bugalo, nicknamed Mul, who had previously repeatedly served a imprisonment for drug trafficking, washing money and forging documents.

Searches and arrests took place in a number of settlements of Galicia - in the province of Poneda.

This is not the first such case in the practice of Spanish law enforcement officers. Previously, this happened in September 2010 - 1.5 tons of the drug were removed from the sailboat of La Flibuste, following the British flag in the Atlantic Ocean.
