On Sunday, Le Soir's Brussels editorial office was quickly evacuated after a bomb warning was called to its office. During the inspection, no explosive devices were found. The caller turned out to be a man named Thierry Carrein. He said he was speaking on behalf of the "far left" who were unhappy with the way Le Soir journalists were covering the Paris attacks. According to him, attention to the situation around Charlie Hebdo fuels far-right sentiments. A series of terrorist attacks in France will lead to the activity of political forces on both sides, noted Nikolai Kaveshnikov, head of the Department of European Integration at MGIMO.

“There is a problem of growing domestic tension in Europe between people of traditional European culture and people of other cultures who have arrived. It is not possible to ensure the integration of immigrants. Against this background, such events provoke a reaction from people with both extreme right-wing views and extreme left ones. The “extreme right” is beginning to strengthen the discourse about the aliens who have arrived. “The extreme left” is starting to say that the extreme right will now use this opportunity to impose on Europe those values that are extremely alien to us,” Kaveshnikov explained to Kommersant FM.

According to recent opinion polls in France, the main candidate for the post of the country's next president is the leader of the far-right National Front party, Marine Le Pen. Nationalism in Europe is indeed intensifying, and this trend will continue, international relations specialist Igor Rapoport is sure.

“Just look at Le Pen’s rating, which has grown by leaps and bounds in recent months. This is absolutely real. The more people with pro-Middle Eastern views stick to their line, the more interest in such parties and such trends will grow. There will be a line first of all, to unite Europeans. Now the principles of democracy will prevail in the main European powers, first of all, in Germany and France. This is quite real and right,” Rapoport is sure.

It is necessary to prevent the strengthening of nationalist sentiments in Europe, says French journalist and writer Marek Halter. Tragedies like Charlie Hebdo really benefit, first and foremost, far-right forces, he emphasized.

"We must start a dialogue with these religions. I think there will be other such bombs in other newspapers in the world, because this is a world war. I think we will win this war. This is not the situation 70 years ago, when the Nazis came and no one I realized that this is dangerous for all the people of the world,” Halter said.

On Sunday night in Germany, unknown persons set fire to the editorial office of the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper. Previously, she reprinted Charlie Hebdo magazine's cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. The newspaper's office was thrown with stones and Molotov cocktails. The fire was quickly extinguished. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
