“I am, of course, not an expert in this matter, but I had to read a lot about both terrorists and fighters against terrorism. And it doesn’t matter what I read about crimes from the distant or not very distant past.

Technical means, methods, realities have changed, but essentially everything has remained the same: a group of people, guided by certain wild views from the generally accepted point of view, sows unsystematic and therefore especially acute horror; intelligence services skillfully or incompetently try to identify and neutralize criminals; society either actively participates in this struggle or is inactive (and sometimes even partially sympathizes with terrorists, as was the case in Russia a hundred years ago or in Western Europe in the 1970s).”
