Lawyers for Oleg and Alexei Navalny, who were sentenced by the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow to three and a half years of real and suspended sentences, respectively, received a full copy of the verdict and filed a brief complaint against it. January 12 is the last day to file a complaint (a more complete version can be filed later). As Alexei Navalny's lawyer Vadim Kobzev, quoted by Interfax, explained, the brief version of the complaint indicates procedural violations. In accordance with the court decision, before the verdict came into force, Oleg Navalny was taken into custody and sent to a pre-trial detention center (he is currently in Butyrka), and Alexei Navalny was left under house arrest. At the same time, Alexei Navalny refused to comply with the house arrest regime. The Federal Penitentiary Service filed complaints with the court about Navalny's violation of the regime, but the court rejected them. Kobzev said that the reasoning part of the verdict says nothing about the measure of restraint.
