The market of light commercial cars, calculated the agency, decreased by 15% to 140 thousand units. Sales of new trucks decreased by 21% to 88 thousand units. Bus sales fell by 25% to 11 thousand pieces.
The crisis in the automotive market, continuing since the beginning of 2013, went deeper in 2014 against the backdrop of a difficult economic and political situation in the country, imposing sanctions, falling oil prices and, as a result, growth of foreign currencies in relation to the ruble and accelerated inflation. In this regard, the car concerns were forced to raise prices for cars, which also affected sales. Twice in 2014 - in March and November - the car market grew due to the delayed demand against the background of waiting for prices. The rest of the time, the market fell significantly, reaching a mark of -23% month to a month. The recycling program, launched since September 2014, has helped reduce the rate of fall, but did not lead to the restoration of the market.
