In total, 15 Soviet and Russian films were nominated for the American Film Academy, the last time in 2007, when Oscar did not go to Nikita Mikhalkov for the film “12” (however, Mikhalkov received an Oscar in 1994 for “tired of the sun”).

Perhaps the most curious thing is that in the entire sample of the nominees there is a “Russian trace”, which, in particular, was noticed by director Arseniy Gonchukov. In addition to Leviathan, in the list of applicants, there is a Timbuktu Timbukta Graduate VGIK - Aberrahman Sisako (Mauritania) and the painting of Ida, the author of documentaries about Zhirinovsky and the son of Dostoevsky - Paul Pavlikovsky (Poland).

Only white. The American press draws attention to the fact that in 2015, not a single black artist claims to be an Oscar. Recently, a similar situation has developed only twice: all nominees were white in 2011, and before that-in 1998. Meanwhile, David Oyelouo, who played the role of Martin Luther King in the film "Selma", directed by Ava Duvernya, could well count on the Academy Academy Award. By the way, Ava herself was also left without a nomination, which was sad, because she could become the first black woman-director among the nominees.

DiCaprio in music. The unlucky French composer Alexander defeated the Oscar six times - for the music for the films “Korolev”, “The mysterious story of Benjamin Batton”, “The Inexpensive Mr. Fox”, “The King says!”, “Operation Argo” and “Filomen”. However, so far none of his wonderful works have been awarded the prize. In 2015, the chances of defeating Oscars are twice as high as usual: in the nomination “Best Original Music” there were two of his works at once: for “Grand Budapest Hotel” ”, Wes Anderson and“ Game in Imitation ”by Morten Tildum. True, a strong opponent walks in the rivals of Depla - Hans Zimmer, who composed the main theme to the Interstellar of Nolan.

Oscar Benedict. The 87th Award of the American Film Academy brought the first nomination Benedict Cumberbatch, which was played by Alan Turing in the “IMICATION Game”. This, perhaps, best of all reflects the current position of the British in world cinema, which is clearly in excellent acting and at the peak of the audience popularity. Real boys. Fictional characters, invented stories are surprising, but they are becoming smaller and smaller. Increasingly, film academics give preference to stories about real people and their achievements. This year, four out of eight films claiming Oscar in the main nomination “Best Film” tell about people that existed in reality. “Selma” - about Martin Luther King, “Playing in Imitation” - about cryptographic and mathematics Alan Turing, “Universe of Stephen Hawking” - respectively, about physics and his wife, “Sniper” - the adaptation of the memoirs of Sniper Chris Kail, who served in Iraq and killed the most enemy soldiers. Cosmic disappointment. Despite the fact that critics highly appreciate the current list of nominees, as always it was not without the strongest disappointment. And one of them is the “Interstellar” of Christopher Nolan, one of the main films of the year, judging by the audience interest. If the “gravity” of Kuaron fell into 10 nominations, and all the main ones, the film of Nolan was limited only to five, and then - technical and musical.

Jennifer Aniston appeared in all Oscar forecasts for her role in the drama "Cake", however, despite the unusual unattractiveness of the actress, who, in the plot, experienced chronic pain, and she did not receive a powerful advertising campaign of the film.
