The European Parliament urged to expand sanctions against Russia

Deputies of the European Parliament obliged the European Council to expand sanctions against Russia in case of further destabilization of the situation in Ukraine. This was reported in a resolution published on the website of the EU legislative body on January 15.

In the document, the European Parliament also calls on the members of the European Council in March 2015 to preserve the sanctions already imposed against Russia and give accurate definitions of the conditions under which these measures can be canceled - this is “unconditional compliance with the conditions of the ceasefire, the withdrawal of Russian troops and other law enforcement [from eastern Ukraine - approx. Polit.ru], the exchange of all prisoners, as well as the restoration of the Ukrainian authorities, control over the entire territory of the country, including Crimea. ”

According to the European Parliament, the EU authorities are obliged to pay attention to the “information war”, which the Russian authorities allegedly lead against Ukraine, the EU, as well as the inhabitants of Russia itself.
