In Ingushetia, a multi-thousandth rally was held against cartoons for the Prophet Muhammad, from 15 to 20 thousand people took part in it, Interfax reports with reference to the press service of the head of Ingushetia.

The official name of the event is the rally "Islam against terrorism and extremism." “Today, the inhabitants of Ingushetia gathered in the square in front of the“ tower of consent ”to declare that Islam is the religion of peace and good and express indignation at the actions of those who continue to ignore the religious feelings of Muslims, publish caricatures on the prophet,” the representative of the republican muftia, one of the organizers of the rally, Kharon Torshkhoev, told the agency.

The head of the republic, Yunus Bek Evkurov, was not present at the rally, but his appeal was read out of the stage. He stated that the publication of the blasphemous carications on the saint for the Muslims of the Proper of Muhammad is nothing more than a manifestation of state extremism from some Western countries. "Undoubtedly, any sane person opens against all violence and terrorist attacks. There can be no justification for this. The Prophet himself was a peacekeeper and proved this by a personal example," the appeal says.

During the rally, the participants of the flash mob formed a live inscription "We love Muhammad."

Those present stood with posters and banners - “Islam - Religion of Peace and Good”, “Shame on the anti -Islamists of Europe and those who support them”, “America and Europe, is enough to kill and insult Muslims”, “Ingushetia against terrorism and insulting believers”. There were also slogans in support of Vladimir Putin, some had his statement on the posters that "Islam was a bright element of the Russian cultural code."

The Mufti of Ingushetia Issa-Haji Khamkhoev noted that thousands of residents of the republic gathered in the central square to oppose the actions of the enemies of Islam. In his opinion, the French edition by creating a caricature offended the feeling of 1.5 billion Muslims of the world. He stated that this "planned provocation" employees of the editorial office of Charlie Hebdo and "leaders of a number of European countries, encouraging such blasphemy," incurred the "anger of the Almighty".

On January 7, the Islamists staged a massacre in the center of Paris in the building of the editorial office of the satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, which also published cartoons on the Prophet Muhammad. As a result of the attack, 12 people died, eight of them are journalists.
