
The list of nominees of the International Opera Opera Awards 2015 in the category “Best Opera Theater” included the Moscow Theater “New Opera” named after E.V. Kolobova.
The International Opera Awards Award was established in 2013 by a philanthropist and opera lover Harry Haiman and Opera Expert editor John Ellison. The purpose of the award is to support novice opera talents and glorify outstanding opera skills.
In the first season, the director of the year and the author of the best new opera production was recognized by Dmitry Chernyakov . In 2014, the musical director of the Bavarian State Opera, conductor of the Bayroit festival Kirill Petrenko won the category of “Best Conductor”.
This year, the award is awarded in 14 nominations. Among the nominees are the Musicaeterna choir (Perm), the recording of the “Figaro Wedding” performed by the Musicaeterna orchestra under the control of Theodore Kurentzis, directors Graham Vick and Robert Karsen, singer Anna Netrebko and Sonya Yoncheva, conductor Semen Bychkov and others.
In the category of “Best Opera Theater”, in addition to the “New Opera”, the English National Opera (London), Comer-Opera (Berlin), the Flemish opera (Antwerp/Gent), the Opera House of the Cr been and the Royal Theater La Montne (Brussels) are presented.
The Laureates of the International Opera Awards 2015 will be announced in London on April 26.
