Until February 1, the Vincuration exhibition “Pioneers of Sound” , dedicated to the first electronic musical instruments and their inventors, operates: its curator Andrei Smirnov conducted COLTA . Ru in the halls and commented on the most interesting exhibits.
At the opening of the exhibition "Pioneers of Sound . " . .“Sound pioneers” is an exhibition in development. Its main idea - to draw parallels between the history of Russian and world electronics - is only outlined here. Not only in Russia, but also in Europe there are many forgotten topics related to proto -electronic music. Comparing the trends in the development of musical technology in the USSR and abroad at the beginning of the twentieth century, we immediately pay attention to the amazing parallelism of concepts, inventions and their fate, reflecting the eternal conflict of the artist - power, whether it be Stalin's totalitarianism or German Nazism, the fight against “formalism” in the USSR or “degenerative art” in Germany, when a creative personality is faced with a choice: is a choice: Emigration and life or collapse and oblivion. In fact, the exhibition is modular, and its structure is a hypertext built on a comparison of numerous documents, newsreels, historical objects, interactive tools and installations. In the future, I expect to expand the exposition, adding lost stories about the pioneers of electronic music and their premature inventions, introducing new parallels from different cultures, replenishing the exposition with new instruments and exhibits.
