UN Secretary General Pan Hi Moon expressed concern in connection with the strengthening of an armed confrontation in the east of Ukraine between separatists and government forces. The statement of the UN Secretary General was published the day before in New York. Pan Hi Moon speaks of alarming by the "escalation of battles" and calls for an immediate end to the armed confrontation.
According to the head of the UN, fighting threaten the implementation of a peaceful plan signed on September 5 last year in Minsk by representatives of Ukraine, Russia and separatists.
Since April 2014, more than 4,700 people have become victims of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
