Up to 30 Russian banks will receive pre -capitalization at the expense of federal loan bonds. According to TASS, this was stated by the head of the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov.
Deputy Siluanova Alexei Moiseev, in turn, explained that the list of banks that will be provided with pre -capitalization should be approved on January 23 at a meeting of the board of directors of the State Corporation “Deposit Insurance Agency”, and then approved by the government.
Last week, speaking at the Gaidar Forum, Moiseev stated that in particular VTB, Gazprombank and Rosselkhozbank, in 2014, would receive pre -capitalization, which fell under the sanctions of the United States and the European Union.
On December 27, Vladimir Putin signed a law providing for the allocation of ASV for the pre -capitalization of banks of 1 trillion rubles. This money should be used to purchase privileged shares of Russian banks, as well as for placing banks in subordinated loans in the obligations of banks.
On December 30, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered to place 100 billion rubles from the National Welfare Fund at the VTB subordinated deposit. As stated in a statement by the White House, these funds are placed "in order to finance infrastructure projects."
Last week, Medvedev stated that the money allocated for pre -capitalization "is not intended for sanitation of problematic financial institutions." “Only those banks that are ready to expand the lending of the real sector in the areas priority for us will be able to get funds,” he assured.
