Roskomnadzor issued warnings to three more Internet publications for reprinting cartoons at the Prophet Muhammad from Charlie Hebdo magazine. This was reported by "Interfax-religion" with reference to the press service of the department. The warnings received rb.ru , runews24.ru and the website of the Leningrad Regional Information Agency .

Officials added that for each of the named publications this is only the first warning. If during the year they will be issued a second, RKN will have reasons to file a lawsuit to the court to recall the registration of these media.

The day before, it became known that RKN issued the first warning in the modern history of Russia for the publication of the caricature. He received the information and analytical portal "Republic".

On January 13, the Kamchatka department of the RKN sent a letter to the local press, which warned of the inadmissibility of "placing in the media of any caricatures for religious figures." The letter of the department was published on his Facebook by the Kamchatka journalist Vladimir Efimov. The author of the letter, the official of the regional head of the RKN, Maria Smetankina, confirmed his authenticity. The document stated that "placing in the media any caricatures for religious figures is unacceptable." The department also recommended that the Internet media not to publish links to "on materials from other media (including foreign), copyright materials justifying these events, cartoons of religious figures." Failure to fulfill this recommendation, was warned in the document, will be considered by the department as a violation of the law "On Combating Extremist Activities".

Later, RKN explained his position on this issue. The publication of such materials can be regarded by the department as an insulting or humiliating dignity of religious denominations and associations and is qualified as inciting national and religious growth, the message said.
