
The Russian Central District Court of the occupied Simferopol arrested for two months the new, fifth, the defendant of "Case May 3" - 34 -year -old businessman Eden Osmanov. This was reported by "Crimea. Realities" with reference to the head of the Central Election Commission of the Crimean Tatar people Zair Smedlyaev.
“The next wave of persecution of Crimean Tatars has come,” the activist commented on the court decision. For 10 months, Smedlyaev added, the occupation authorities could not increase the number of cooperating with them and now, in order to force cooperation, repressions begin.
Osmanov was detained on January 19 at the Black Sea Road Administration. According to Qırımtatar.org, to the car in which the businessman and his family were located, the White Gazelle drove up. Five unknown in masks jumped out from there. They twisted Osmanov and took with them.
The businessman was charged under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (the application of non -hazardous violence to a representative of the authorities). He faces up to five years in the colony. According to the investigation, on May 3, 2014, during the meeting of the National Leader of the Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Dzhemilev in Armenian, Osmanov applied force in relation to the Russian occupation police. Relatives of the accused, however, refute the statement of investigators.
Osmanov’s interests are represented by lawyer Emil Kurbetdinov. He also defends another accused in the case - Tair Smedlyaev, brother of the head of the CEC of Kurultay.
The first four defendants in “May 3” - Musa Apkerimov, Rustam Abdurakhmanov, Tair Smedlyaev and Eden Ebulisov - were arrested in October - November. Abdurakhmanov and Samedlyaev were also charged with part 1 of Article 318, Apkerimov - part 2 of the same article (the use of dangerous violence), which provides for up to 10 years of the colony. What exactly the accusation was charged with Ebulisov is unknown.
However, on December 11, Tair Smedlyaev was released for the guarantee of Escender Bilyalov, adviser to the envoy Vladimir Putin in Crimea. Around the same time, three other defendants came out of the pre -trial detention center under the guarantee of Bilyalov. As noted, this happened a few days after Putin's meeting with Turkey President Tayyip Erdogan.
