Facebook will mark fake news

Facebook announced the update of the news feed algorithm in which it will be possible to complain about posts with fake news, false information or hoax.

They can be marked through the menu "complain to the publication" (Report Post). To the existing complaints (on unpleasant content, on spam, that “this is not a place on Facebook”; in more new versions - on pornography, violence, insulting feelings or clickbytte), the item “Its False News Story” will be added (“This is a false news”). Posts with a large number of such complaints will be marked with the phrase “Many People on Facebook Have Reported That this Contains False Information” (“Many people with Facebook report that there is false information in this post”), as well as decline in the issuance. The social network notes that the update will not affect posts and links of frankly satirical content.

The development of the developers does not specify exactly when it will update the news feed algorithm. At the moment, some users from Russia have not yet had such a function.
