Apple bought a Musicmetric service

Apple acquired the British company Semetric, the owner of the analytical service Musicmetric. The acquisition was made back in 2014, writing t The Guardian.

The Guardian received information about the purchase of Semetric, transferred to the British authorities: in them the legal address of the company was changed to Apple's address in California. The transaction value is not disclosed. According to Financial Times , it could amount to up to $ 50 million.

The MusicMetric service offers services to musicians and labels, helping them track how their music is distributed - through sales to iTunes, loading Bittorrent, viewing on YouTube and listening to Spotify. The service has partnership agreements with Spotify and Last.fm, but whether they will continue to act after its purchase Apple is still unclear.

According to the newspaper, Musicmetric can become part of the Beats service, which Apple acquired last year. Earlier in the media there was information that Apple plans to include Beats Music in a set of default applications for the updated IOS version.
