80 years ago, January 22, 1935, Alexander Men, Archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church, theologian and preacher, was born. He was one of the initiators of the Christian "Samizdat" of the 1960s. Until the mid-1980s, his works were published mainly abroad under the pseudonym E. Svetlov, A. Bogolyubov, A. Pavlov. The smallest was a spiritual mentor, and often the godfather of many dissidents. He was engaged in charity capacity, was one of the creators of the group of mercy at the Russian children's clinical hospital.

On September 9, 1990, Father Alexander Men was brutally killed near his house in the village of Semkhoz near Moscow. The crime remains unsolved.
