Ukraine announced the loss of three settlements in the Donetsk region
Ukraine has included three settlements in its list of uncontrolled (or partially uncontrolled) cities - the cities of Avdiivka and Yasinovataya, as well as the village of Peski. All of them are located near Donetsk. This became known on January 22, although the decision was made the day before. This is reported by Ukrainian News. According to other sources , settlements are not yet included in the list - this issue will only be considered.
On January 21, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced that pro-Russian separatists were shelling Avdiivka and intended to destroy the coke plant located there.
On January 22, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, promised to push back the front line so that the Ukrainians could not shell Donetsk. According to him, the shelling, which hit people at a stop in Donetsk, was carried out from Avdiivka.
The map of the antiterrorist operation, which is updated every day by the Ukrainian authorities, indicates that Yasinovataya is under the control of the separatists. Avdiivka and Pesky are depicted on the map in government-controlled territory.
"Yesterday, by order of the prime minister, three cities - Avdiivka, Peski and Yasninovata - were included in the list," Deputy Prime Minister Gennady Zubko said.
