Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said at the economic forum in Davos that government funding for large projects for the construction of transport infrastructure will be reduced by an average of 10%, TASS reports on Friday, January 23 .

“In general, we do not plan to sharply reduce the amount of infrastructure financing. There will be a general reduction of 10%, and unevenly across projects. In some places we will fully finance expenses, in others we will reduce them. But there will not be any sharp and global reduction,” - Dvorkovich said. He also noted that the regions were allocated additional funds for road funds “so that they could get through this period.”

The Deputy Prime Minister added that a 10% reduction will also affect the financing of Russian Railways projects. At the same time, there are no plans to reduce the volume of subsidies for the state-owned company in the amount of 30 billion rubles approved for 2015, but in amendments to the budget, funding for Russian Railways may be cut. “There may be a temporary reduction (of funding) in connection with the general decision to cut by 10%,” Dvorkovich explained.

He also recalled the existence of an anti-crisis fund, emphasizing that “if we need to restore this 10%, we will do it.” “There is still no final decision on where and what cuts will be made. It will all be in the budget law, it will be submitted to the State Duma, and the final decision will be made together with parliament,” the deputy prime minister concluded.

At the end of November 2014, the government approved the investment program of Russian Railways for 2015 in the amount of 414 billion rubles.
